General Giving

Use the button below to give once as a guest, or register to give regularly (you can also set up a recurring gift). Setup is quick and easy. You can give through credit/debit card, checking account, or even text messages. None of your personal information will be stored on SUMC servers. We use Stripe for our online giving. We chose Stripe because of the robust security. They handle over $1.4 trillion in payments each year.

100% of your giving goes to the church and is tax deductible. The church will pay all transaction fees and percentages so that all of your gift goes to where you want it to go.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the church office for more details at 812-246-2502.

If you want to help the church reduce its transaction fees, consider using ACH by using your checking account for your giving as it only costs $.25/transaction vs. 3% for credit/debit.

Memorial Giving

When a member or a member of their family pass away, it is sometimes customary to donate a gift to the church in memory of the loved one. These donations are compiled with other gifts in memory of the same person. The church board then decides what special project or needed ministry item for which the funds can be used. This is often done in consultation with the family of the loved one so that, when possible, the funds are used in a way that is special to the family.

Gifts can be left in the offering plate on Sunday, mailed to the church, or you can use the link above to give online. Be sure to mark your gift clearly as a memorial gift and the name of the person who you want to remember with your gift.

Planned Giving

A planned gift, also called legacy gift, allows individuals to establish a lasting philanthropic legacy by directly impacting the ministries that matter most to them. In some cases, legacy giving can provide funding from those who are unable to make significant contributions during their lifetimes.

Planned giving ensures long-term financial stability and supports the church’s mission for future generations. It can provide sustained funding for vital programs and initiatives, making a lasting difference. Planned giving can benefit both the donor and the church community. Donors can leave a meaningful legacy, and the church gains resources to continue its good work.

Planned giving often comes from a bequest in your will or estate plan. If you are considering including Sellersburg UMC in your will, please reach out to the Pastor or Finance chair for direction and help.  If you have any questions, we are here to help.
