The Prodigal Journey
Despite such a simple straightforward mission to make disciples, the church today seems more divided than ever. In our sermon series this month called “Faith Journeys,” we are going to drill down and discover what it means to be a disciple in Christ’s eyes. Using 5 journeys in the Gospel stories, 2 based on actual journeys and 3 within parables, we are going to look at the central teachings of Jesus, and what it means to be a follower of Christ. Our first journey is based on the parable of the prodigal (wasteful) son. Despite the sons errors in judgment and wasteful ways, God welcomes him home, "for this son of mine was dead and is alive, he was lost and now is found."
